Commonly misconstrued in the modern era, Death is a powerful symbol in the Major Arcana symbolizing the death of a project, plan, or relationship rather the death of a person. Here depicted during a time of harvest and abundance, the reaping white skeleton sits atop a spry horse against a gold background. This card is rich in details and colors, evident in the horse’s white saddle and reigns and the expressive faces of mortal onlookers beneath Death.
